Senior ResearcherProductivity Research Fellow – CNPq Graduate programs served by Dr. de Lima: 1. Chemistry; 2. Pharmacy |
Bachelor’s in Pharmacy from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1986) and doctorate at Chemistry from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1994). He is currently Senior Researcher at Institute of Chemistry of the Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul. Has experience in Chemistry, focusing on Organic Synthesis, acting on the following subjects: antitumoral, resveratrol, structural modifications and detoxification by fungi of aromatic amines. He has a Productivity Research Fellow from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) since 2013, currently at level 2.
Main lines of research
- Organic synthesis
- Medicinal chemistry
Themes of interest
- Enhancement of biological activity of bioactive natural products via structural transformation (Medicinal Chemistry).
- Total synthesis of natural products of biological interest.
- Use of biocatalysis to generate derivatives of natural and synthetic substrates (Biotransformation). Biocatalysis of natural products abundant in plants allows the generation of derivatives that would be difficult to obtain via standard chemical reactions.
- Use of the Gif system for remote-site oxidation of organic molecules to yield new derivatives from natural products.
