Former member from the Sintmol Lab just becomes a professor at the North Dakota State University (NDSU) – USA

Prof. Roberto da Silva Gomes (photo), a former member of Sintmol Lab, as a postdoctoral fellow (CAPES) and advisor in the UFMS Graduate Program in Chemistry has is the newest Assistant Professor at the School of Pharmacy at North Dakota State University (NDSU), in the United States. He was selected as the lead candidate following a competitive three-step interview process that included research presentations and teaching demonstrations.

The team at the Sintmol Lab is proud and wants to take the opportunity to congratulate Professor Roberto for this important achievement. 

 

More about Dr. Gomes

Roberto S. Gomes obtained his PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of São Paulo in 2011. Afterward, he joined the group of Prof. Adilson Beatriz at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul as a postdoctoral assistant to design new chemical methodologies for the synthesis of biologically active compounds. In 2013, he started his independent career as an Assistant Professor at the Federal University of Grande Dourados. His research interests are focused on C–C bond activation and cross-coupling reactions. Currently, he is a Visiting Professor at Harvard University in association with Prof. E. J. Corey’s Research Group (2017-present), and research advisor in the Master and Doctoral degree programs in Chemistry at Institute of Chemistry of the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, and Federal University of Grande Dourados.
