He was selected as the lead candidate following a competitive three-step interview process that included research presentations and teaching demonstrations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The team at the Sintmol Lab is proud and wants to take the opportunity to congratulate Professor Roberto for this important achievement.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>More about Dr. Gomes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Roberto S. Gomes obtained his PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of S\u00e3o Paulo in 2011. Afterward, he joined the group of Prof. Adilson Beatriz at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul as a postdoctoral assistant to design new chemical methodologies for the synthesis of biologically active compounds. In 2013, he started his independent career as an Assistant Professor at the Federal University of Grande Dourados. His research interests are focused on C\u2013C bond activation and cross-coupling reactions. Currently, he is a Visiting Professor at Harvard University in association with <a href=\"https:\/\/chemistry.harvard.edu\/people\/e-j-corey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Prof. E. J.
